‘Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is a progress and working together is a success’ is a popular quote. Thoughts merged and formed was a seed which sprouted into a school called the ‘NORTH POINT SCHOOL’ on 16th June, 1991 WHICH HAS NOW MATURED TO A HIGHER SECONDARY (+ 2 Stage) SCHOOL WHICH HAS ALREADY CELEBRATED ITS 25 GLORIOUS YEARS OF BRILLIANT ACHIEVEMENTS WITH A RELEASE OF “PHILATELIC SPECIAL COVER” & POSTAGE STAMP IN THE NAME OF NORTH POINT SCHOOL BY INDIA POST MADE THE SILVER JUBILEE OCCASION MEMORABLE AND HISTORIC.
NORTH POINT SCHOOL came into existence with effect from 16th June 1991 from the noble thoughts of DR. Rajat Kanti Bhattacharjee, Mr. Debomoy Bhattacharjee, Mr. Debobrata Chakraborty and Mr. Rahul Bandyopadhyay and started to function in the residential premises of Late Rabindra Kumar Bhattacharjee accompanied voluntarily by Mr. Ajay Kumar Chakraborty of Assam as the first Principal of North Point School, Dharmanagar. The above 04 (Four) intellectual brains behind NORTH POINT SCHOOL later became the Trustee Members of NORTH POINT EDUCATIONAL & WELFARE TRUST which presently looks after the functioning and affairs of the school. The initiatives of the FOUNDERS were not simply noble and humane but were praiseworthy and benevolent. Otherwise, the institution which is now pioneering in academic excellence would not have come into existence. THE SCHOOL HAS A REPUTATION OF 100% BRILLIANT RESULT IN MADHYAMIK (SECONDARY) EXAMINATION FROM TRIPURA BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (TBSE), AGARTALA, TRIPURA EVERY YEAR. VERY RECENTLY MASTER SHIVAM DE S/O MR. SUDIPTA DE OF HOSPITAL ROAD, DHARMANAGAR, NORTH TRIPURA HONOURED THE NORTH POINT FAMILY WITH HIS EXCELLENCE SCORE OF 8TH POSITION IN MADHYAMIK EXAMINATION IN 2020 FROM TRIPURA BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (TBSE), AGARTALA. The school is functioning in the present location, ‘HARITALA’ AT WEST CHANDRAPUR, DHARMANAGAR, NORTH TRIPURA from the academic year 2011, in the temporarily constructed class rooms, and the permanent building and other infrastructure are under the process of construction and development. As the objectives of the pathfinders are distinct and different, the school continues to promote academic excellence combined with deep-rooted spirit of Indian culture and heritage in exponential values.
As the goal of the school is set and guided by the motto, ‘Integrity, Excellence and Transparency in all endeavours’ , and, as the school believes in ‘knowledge finds the path and wisdom lights its way through, fine- tune the leaders for the future’, the academic curriculum has been set after visiting many reputed schools in Tripura and other North Eastern states, NCRET approved books published under CBSE pattern by the national or international publishers are followed. North Point School is the pioneer in the entire state of Tripura to introduce Nature Study (Environmental Studies) and Computer Education in the academic curriculum well ahead in the year 1991. After understanding the direct influence of the celebration of “Basanta Utsab of Shantiniketan” introduced by Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore, on the social and cultural values developed in the students , the school celebrates “Basanta Utsab” every year from 1991. The celebration brings the students close, and their colourful presentation of music and dance proves their true inheritance of culto promote academic excellence combined with deep-rooted spirit of Indian culture and heritage in exponential values.ture and tradition.
The salient features of the school include different creative activities in many subjects, nature study workshops, science exhibition, participation in social welfare activity, moral education etc. Due to the special emphasis on building up ‘scientific outlook’ and ‘spirit of self-development’ amongst the students to prepare them to face different challenges and competitions such as state and national level of seminars, science exhibitions etc. Master, Rajarshi Bandyopadhyay , a class-IX students of NORTH POINT SCHOOL could win the National championship of Science Seminar held in Mumbai in the year 2016. Many students of the school have secured position in Junior Mathematics Olympiad and other Mathematical aptitude test conducted by Dharmanagar Ganit Parishad and Tripura Mathematical Society, Agartala, from time to time. The school has also won the Champion Trophy in the state level Drama Competition. The ‘academic excellence of the school can be felt by one and all from the fact that there is cent percent success in ‘Madhyamik examination’ since the year 2002.
In addition every year the school use to promote the spirit of national integrity, North Eastern regional cultural activities, inter school open chess competition, essay competitions (state level), sports activities, organising blood donation camps, enrolment of students, teachers and employees of the school in the savings and insurance schemes and also encourage Ex-teachers and students for formation of alumni association. Moreover school encourage the students in respect of national integrity, North Eastern regional traditional cultural activities with a participation in national and regional celebration, festivals in the form of production of tableau and various cultural activities organised by govt. and non govt. agencies and school itself. Publication of school magazine “JOL PODE PATA NODE” is an annual feature & publication of souvenir, wall magazine, booklet, little magazine – these are the usual phenomena of school.

The momentous and successful journey of quarter century, from 1991 to 2016, is completed with tremendous applause from all corners. The school owes a lot to the people of Dharmanagar in general; and to the valuable contribution of the students, their parents and guardians and to the well-wishers including Mr. Ramendu Kumar Bhattacharjee, Mr. Ratnapradip Bhattacharjee, Mr. Dipak Choudhury, Lt. Rabindranath Banerjee, Late Dwija Prasanna Chakraborty, Ex-Chief Minister of Tripura Mr. Samir Ranjan Barman and Ex-State Minister Mrs. Biva Nath, Late Bindu Basini Bhattacharjee and her family members, Mrs. Prava Chakraborty, Mrs. Jharna Bhattacharjee, Mrs. Papiya Bandyopadhyay, and Mrs. Debjani Bhattacharjee. ‘North Point Educational & Welfare Trust’ is determined to maintain its foremost aim and objective of ‘academic excellence’ forever; and the school with a well equipped Science Laboratory, Hostel for Boys and Girls, a Co-education English Medium College, an eco-park etc., will continue its journey further for many more years to come, for the betterment of the people of Dharmanagar. IN THE MEAN TIME THE SCHOOL HAS STARTED/OPENED ITS HIGHER SECONDARY CLASSES OBTAINING AFFILIATION FROM TRIPURA BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (TBSE). GLORIOUS JOURNEY OF NORTH POINT SCHOOL WITH ITS EXCELLENCE WILL REMAIN ENDLESS FOR TEACHING AND TOUCHING THE ‘FUTURE’ IN THE COMING DAYS.
